About me and this site
Hey, I'm Todd — a photographer, designer and content creator with a particular interest in outdoor and landscape photography. I write and share photography tutorials and gear reviews on this website in addition to a weekly newsletter and YouTube channel. I also travel and get out in the field whenever I can to practice the art and craft of landscape photography.
This path in life came after working two decades in the design and tech startup world. During that time I built two photography-related software businesses (SlideShowPro and Koken), was a full stack designer and creative director at Turner Broadcasting, and a design organization lead at Mailchimp.
After years of writing code, designing software applications, and rebranding a big company, I decided it was time for something new. A return to craft. To play the fool, make mistakes, learn new skills, and further develop my own creative voice. To go out and discover what speaks to me photographically, then document and share that journey with others.
That pursuit has taken me to Iceland (three times), Norway, Hawaii, Dolomites, Canadian Rockies, plus numerous trips to the American West.
Whenever I review third party products, all opinions are my own. Links on this site are typically affiliated, which goes towards supporting the work I do. More detail here.
My hope for the future is to continue growing and maturing as photographer, to create more products of my own, and find more like-minded people in the world to collaborate with. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to reach out and say hello.
This website and my email newsletter are published using Ghost.
